The River Group appoints Charlotte Hardie as Group Content Director

The River Group has further expanded its senior team with the appointment of Charlotte Hardie as
Group Content Director.

Charlotte has 20 years experience and a proven track record for developing industry-leading products
and services that ensured that the brands she led remained at the forefront of publishing and
journalistic innovation. Prior to joining River, Charlotte was Group Content Director of Ascential’s
flagship retail brand RWRC where she led a 30-strong team across content, marketing and product

River’s CEO Nicola Murphy comments; “I’m delighted to welcome Charlotte as our new Group
Content Director. She brings a wealth of experience in innovative content creation, creative team
development and people management and as an expert in the best in consumer engagement will be
a welcome addition to the River team.”

Charlotte is the latest of River’s senior appointments, with the Group having significantly expanded
its staff in the last 12 months owing to remarkable business growth.

Nicki has had an extensive career in marketing. Before all things River, founded by Nicki in 1994, she worked in magazines for three years and in marketing for six years at Procter & Gamble.

Outside of work Nicki is a proud mum of six young adults, two chocolate labradors and four cats! She is an eighteen-year trustee of The Good Rock Foundation and is also a four-year director and trustee of The Katie Piper Foundation.

Nicki is a big supporter of the PPA and an active member of FIPP, the CIM and The Marketing Society.
