Rachel Middlewick is re-joining The River Group on 6th January 2025 as our new MD.

A Message from our Group CEO, Nicki Murphy:

I'm delighted to announce that Rachel Middlewick is re-joining The River Group on 6th January 2025 as our new MD.

Rachel has spent over twenty years in content marketing and media businesses leading multi-disciplinary teams and developing content product strategies that deliver greater customer engagement as well as solid business revenues. 

Highlights include leading a data transformation project as Chief Commercial Officer at PA Media that changed the way the whole business engaged with its customers and prospects; proving naysayers wrong that Sports Direct's media brand couldn't generate sustainable revenues; as Business Director of a media portfolio, creating a digital content strategy for a deeply traditional print brand; and as Commercial Strategy Director, designing a collaborative operating model and associated brand position for a content agency within a publishing behemoth.  

She joins us fresh from two years working as a consultant for a wide range of businesses including FT Strategies, Haymarket Business Media, William Reed and here at River, delivering transformation and growth projects for clients. 

I'd like to, with a heavy heart therefore say goodbye to my friend, and Rivers Group MD, of 18 years standing, Jackie Garford. She is leaving for a well earned rest after helping me and our fellow directors steer the agency group as MD for ten of those years.  We have been a dynamic duo and I've enjoyed every single minute. Every pitch, every contract negotiation, every business trip, every laugh, and a few tears along the way. Not least when she decided to leave! 

Thank you Jackie. I will miss you. 

Welcome back Rachel, I'm excited for our next phase. I can't wait to make ten years of memories with you as you lead River into our exciting new future.
