The Process of In-Housing

Agency Inside has created a four-phase approach to in-housing:


Phase 1 – exploration and consideration

Phase 2 – audit

Phase 3 – build

Phase 4 – execute


Each phase is designed to accommodate your work and investigation into whether in-housing is right for you, and if it is, which operating model is right for you.


The output of Phase 2 is a business case and blueprint design for your in-house creative operations model. Then you can either build the model yourself, or continue to work with Agency Inside for the build and implementation.


Phase 1 – Exploration and Consideration


We have a series of workshops:


1.1 Explore workshop – aligning senior stakeholders and the board around the need for in-housing.

1.2 Introducing Gen AI Workshop – exploring the impact that the right gen AI platforms will have on capacity, output and the economics of an in-house operating model.

1.3 The Pain Points of In-Housing Workshop – exploring the potential challenges to in-housing in your organisation.

1.4 The Planning and Process of In-Housing Workshop – exploring the considerations for, and how to plan and build, your in-house model.

1.5 Building a Culture for In-Housing Workshop – exploring how to harness or nurture a culture conducive to hiring and retaining creative talent.

1.6 Managing Social Media Influencers In-House Workshop – exploring how best to source and manage social influencers.


Phase 2 – Audit


This consists of 13 modules, to ensure every aspect of planning and designing a bespoke in-house creative operations model is covered.


The modules include reviews of:


• Your current external agency supplier ecosystem

• Workflow, briefing and QC protocols that need to be established

• Skillsets already in place

• Martec, DAM and data that your in-house unit will need to plug into

• Culture

• P&L demands/expectations of the in-house unit.


The result of a full or part audit will be a business case and blueprint design for your model.


Phase 3 – Build


If required, Agency Inside will hire and train staff, design the contracts and set pay bands.


We will organise licence agreements for the required platforms.


We will design the space and order the equipment needed.


Phase 4 – Execute


Agency Inside will run the in-house model for as long as you require. Our proposition is that we’ll have a bespoke in-house creative operations model up and running for you within 12-24 months, and then we’ll pull out – with no ongoing managed service costs.
